I can do without all the air horn and "SALSA!" add-ins, weird DJ table edits, weird fusion across basically everything (especially the bachata singers on salsa songs), and yeah. But by the end of the night there were a bunch of good salsa songs and I thought "Why not play this earlier when people were still here??".

The biggest problem for me is reading the dance floor... Starts the night with 2 salsa's then 2 bachatas then more than 50% of the floor is sitting out the kizomba and we get a 2nd one. This is to START the night, when the most people are there and you're trying to build energy and give people value for their money. The 2nd kizomba had no more people than the first... Then this DJ is doing a lot of mixing one song into the next, something that no dance crowd I've ever been a part of is asking for or wants. Just give me a good clean break between songs to end the dance and find a new partner. Totally normal. Then the song selection... a few good salsa songs but at least half were terrible fusion that I wouldn't even insult timba by calling it that. Ugh, it's a bigger topic than this DJ but the whole "lets combine salsa, bachata, chacha, merengue and kizomba into ONE dance floor to try to satisfies the needs of everyone" idea just creates low value for a lot of people. I like chacha and dance it, but MOST people are sitting out. Kizomba often has a number of dancers but as a co-equal or close-to-equal with salsa and bachata during a "latin" event? No. One or maximum two an hour? Okay, that's fine. It's sort of the latin communities break dance but ... Mmm. 2 stars is me being generous here.
