Bachata Thursdays

The value of this night keeps decreasing because you can't keep your enthusiasm up for a structurally crappy event... or it could be that the music was just bad tonight and super biased against salsa. I think I stopped counting at 4 salsa songs in the first 12. And some of the songs.. like one of the lamest cha-cha songs I've heard. Why not play some boogaloo and show people why people listen to this music and it can belong at a dance night? Terrible fusion songs with bachata vocals over a salsa beat.. And the community aspect really doesn't come into much effect here although for sure there are people that know and recognize each other. I guess a counter to my community statement is that yet again we stopped the whole dance floor to celebrate some guys birthday -- which takes one of the few salsa songs and makes it about one person. I've always thought this ritual was really dumb. Yeah just souring on this whole series pretty heavily.
